In full Covid-19 lockdown I attended an online training summit on Servant Leadership organized by Ken Blanchard Institute, Berret-Koehler Publishers and Conscious Marketer. I love to share what struck me in the session of Henry Cloud, the author of 'The power of the Other'. This book provides insight into the influence others have on your life and the relationship you have with them. You can choose how you deal with relationships: cultivate the good and banish the others from your life or handle differently.
In a simple way he explains that our working relationships fit in 4 corners. These relationships:
- Give or absorb energy
- Make us feel completely or lonely
- Give us pain and pleasure
- Motivate or demotivate
with varying degrees between the extremes mentioned above. Below you see about what happens to us in each of the 4 corners.
