"Your holistic approach does not fit the vision of our company."

"Your holistic approach does not fit the vision of our company." Reason or excuse?

Yes, we do live in the 21st century. And yes, remaining agile and evolve in a VUCA world, means we need 1+1 >2.

In other words: create synergy by strengthening our collective brain.

How do we do this? By approaching the organisation as a single system, or in other words holistically, instead of cutting it down into small adjustable parts.

Functional departments are those small controllable parts, each with their own goals. In order to reach their goals, each department tackles disruptive symptoms internally. Sometimes in despair, always with loss of energy.

Never the symptom is the cause, and symptom management takes up a lot of lost time. Exactly for this reason CompanyWise is convinced of the benefits of a holistic approach.

We look at the whole system and its context. It involves the constituent elements that will realise the company's ambition, such as processes for goods and services, the ‘organisational structure’, but above all the human factor as the primary catalyst for dynamic functioning, the ‘organisational culture’. These two are inextricably linked.

Isn't the vision of your organisation holistic? Then you might optimise the small parts via quick wins, but you miss out on the potential of the bigger picture. And you might lose competitive advantage.

A systemic approach is not immensely harsh. Our next blog will explain how CompanyWise applies the holistic approach.
